Malaga sporting director Quique Perez is hopeful winger Antonio Cordero will stay at the club amid interest from Newcastle.

The 18-year-old has impressed on his way into the first-team this season, scoring five goals and providing six assists in 29 Segunda Division games, and Estádio Deportivo say the Magpies are interested in signing him.

Meanwhile, Perez said in an interview สมัครสมาชิก UFABET วันนี้ รับเครดิตฟรีทุกวัน with Zona Deporta via Peteb Malaga: “I am hopeful because – not because I have always said this – I am not speaking as someone who works at Malaga or as a general director.”

“I speak as someone who works in football. Things will happen and in the end we will see what happens. I think it makes sense (for Cordero to stay at Malaga). Whether you are here or not, people will give their all.”

“I’m not someone who holds grudges against others. No matter who’s here, as long as they’re doing their best, there’s nothing to talk about.”

Cordero has made 50 first-team appearances for Malaga since and including his debut in 2023, scoring five goals and registering six assists in 29 second-tier matches so far this season.

Newcastle are expect to target a new winger in the summer after allowing Miguel Almiron to re-join Atlanta United on a permanent deal in January, but it remains unknown as to whether they would intend to immediately integrate Cordero into Eddie Howe’s first-team squad should they win the race for his signature.
